Adding images to your post on Medium is very easy, and there are two ways to do this.
Typically, you would have your main image (similar to a website's Featured Image) directly under the title/subtitle.
Simply go to a new line, and click the + button on the left to expand the menu, as seen in the screenshot below.
Then, you have the first option, which is to add your own image, that is stored on your device.
The second option allows you to upload a relevant image directly from Unsplash.
One thing you must be aware of is that you must add a caption under the image, not only stating the source but linking to it, too.
Obviously, if it's your own photo, you don't need to add a link to the caption, just state "photo courtesy of the author" or something similar.
If the image is AI-generated, you also need to specifically say this, even if you think it would be pretty obvious!
So, something similar to "Image created by DALL-E 3 Using AI."
If you have opted to pick an image from Unsplash, the caption will be added for you.
This is interesting. I have yet to indicate that my images are DALL-e, but have titled them all. I have yet to be slapped with better do this message...
I have posted 3 posts, all with my own photos or images I had bought. But I didn´t have a clue about this: "must add a caption under the image"
Of course, I understand it if it was not yours, but when I took them(own them for other reasons, it was special but good to know!
I will change it now!
I was going to give you a thumb but couldn´t! Not sure why, but I tried!
I noticed that when I was trying to add an image. Not sure what the problem was, but I did get the image added!
