I messed about just a little bit on Medium after the September HCU. I have 3 unique articles published, 3 canonical articles (originally published on my website) and I have 1 article which was originally published on my site but I deleted it and then published on Medium.
So 7 articles in total so far.
My plan is to publish all my existing website content on Medium ...
Then the thought occurred to me, if 99% of my Medium is canonical from my website might that be a red flag for parasite SEO?
What are your thoughts on canonical vs unique content ratios on Medium to keep it looking natural?

Should be fine.
The "parasite SEO" was mainly aimed at the medium-sized websites that specifically have sections for "write a guest post for us", and the larger-sized websites that are creating subdirectories/subdomains simply for affiliate marketing purposes.
As an example, BEFORE yesterday, both Forbes and Sports Illustrated completely deleted their subdirectories around "online casinos" and "vouchers".
So, anyone in those niches, start writing, you'll rank, less competition, hahahahaha!!
Parasite on Reddit, Medium, and Linkedin seems to be fine.
So, if it's a specific web 2.0 property (a website that allows users to create their own content on site) such as these, they're still ranking, they're still doing well, and although they may see some drops in traffic over the coming months, my guess, they're still all going to be among the most popular websites online.
For me, I think about 99% of my articles on Medium are Canoncial based from my website, and at a guess, about 60% are ranking in the top 10 for certain keywords and receiving traffic.
However, Medium is very much about consistency, so even though ALL my traffic comes from Google, if I haven't published for a few days my traffic seems to drop, but then when I've added articles again for a few days, traffic rises again!!
Furthermore, when you publish on Medium you get a pop-up to share to Facebook, Twitter, and Linkedin.
I only share to Twitter/X and Linkedin, but many of my Linkedin "shares" (so NOT even full articles) are ALSO RANKING!
Once more, go for it with the canonicals, it's fine!!
Great, thanks Partha 🙂

I saw this! It'll be interesting to see if there's all that much change for us smaller publishers after the parasite update.
