So, I guess one consideration, is how much you will be using it, of course!
I have to say, I resisted paying for Midjourney for a long time.
Already paying for ChatGPT, which includes DALL-E, I was quite happy with my AI images, as I am pretty good at writing prompts that gave me the results I wanted.
So, why should I pay for another AI image generator, is it really that much better?
Hell, yeah!
Midjourney is jaw-droppingly astonishing, particularly for the type of images I need for my Etsy shop.
I started with the basic version, see the pricing comparison below.
But I really wanted to up my game with Etsy and add as many listings as possible.
I soon used up the 200-generation limit on the lower-priced plan, so I am now paying for the unlimited option.
And, if you are not aware, Midjourney has a website now, you don't have to use Discord, which was far too complex!
Johnny Depp playing my husband's guitar? Oh, go on then!
Yeah, I noticed that there was a website!
I just signed up to the MidJourney basic plan, and used my discord account, rather than my Google sign in. Even so, the page looked the same.
Diane, I would love some help with creating image prompts. Any suggestions or prompts that you are willing to share?
Your Etsy images look fantastic by the way....grin.

@rudy Thank you for the compliment!
Just the same as any image generator, the more detailed the prompt the better.
And if you are not familiar with Midjourney's Parameters, it's worth getting to know them.
For anybody who doesn't know - these are the mysterious numbers at the end of Midjourney prompts!
So, for example --ar2:3 or --16:9 is simply the aspect ratio, whether you want a vertical, or landscape or square image.
Or you can select a style --500, this tells Midjourney how much attention to pay to your prompt.
Using the lowest setting --100 will give you as close to what you want, but it might not be very artistic.
Whereas --700 will allow Midjourney to be more creative and imaginative.
There are lots of numbered settings, or you can simply ask for a subtle variation or a strong variation if you don't like the initial result.
And if you want text, you have to put the words in straight quotation marks, such as "Digital Matrix."
So, a basic prompt, without parameters or detailed instructions still gives a very acceptable image.
A stylized, artistic portrait of a woman in 1920s attire, featuring a sequined dress and a feathered headband, set in a grand ballroom with Art Deco elements.
Or, you could add more details and a stylization figure of 500, to get this, which sticks to the prompt but is more artistic.
A stylized, artistic portrait of a woman in 1920s attire, featuring a sequined dress and a feathered headband, set in a grand ballroom with Art Deco elements. Dramatic lighting emphasizes the sparkle and textures, creating a sense of glamour and luxury hd quality, vibrant but muted color, high contrast, Art Deco style, intricate details, glamorous, inspired by Great Gatsby elegance, cinematic depth --s 500
And finally, up the stylization for this! Which is very pretty, but has ignored the instructions about being in a ballroom!
A stylized, artistic portrait of a woman in 1920s attire, featuring a sequined dress and a feathered headband, set in a grand ballroom with Art Deco elements. Dramatic lighting emphasizes the sparkle and textures, creating a sense of glamour and luxury hd quality, vibrant but muted color, high contrast, Art Deco style, intricate details, glamorous, inspired by Great Gatsby elegance, cinematic depth --s 1000
So, you could use the same prompt over and over again, and get a different result every time!
You are mist welcome, Diane!
And I've tried using prompts with Leonardo, Dall-E, Msoft Designer, Snappa, et al, and my results are mixed... lol.
Ai has issues with staying to task on the prompt instructions, as you mentioned in the last image , there is no ballroom...only the closeup image of the woman..
I think the best way to describe how to write the prompt is to provide as much detail as you can to get the image you want, depending on the style - image, illustration, sketch, etc...
Thanks for sharing your prompt ideas and hints. I will be more specific when creating prompts for images.

The one on the right is FreePik. The one on the left is DeepAI. Both were created with the prompt from above.
Both are Freemium. The third is from M$FT Designer.
