So I have my personal account banned by Facebook, which means that I can't manage my Facebook business pages anymore and neither my groups.
On further investigation, this is exactly what happened to me, even with a 2 step verification that I had installed, and apparently Facebook still hasn't fixed this problem: https://siliconangle.com/2023/05/28/facebook-users-lose-accounts-due-unknown-linked-spam-instagram-accounts/
Apparently, there is nothing I can do now, also because I don't live in the US.
I sincerely hope this will never happen to you, as it happened to large business profiles as well, as you can see in the article 🙁
Take care!
Lizzy
I had the same thing happen to me, Lizzy, about a year ago. Originally, I had two Facebook accounts; one was for networking and the other one was for real friends or people I really really did know.
However, about a year ago, I was logged out of my Facebook account and unable to login. When I tried to log back in, I received the message "Account Disabled"! I also had Facebook pages attached to this account, which are still live, but I can't get to them.
Facebook must be the worst platform on the planet! I have no idea what I did wrong. I have written to Facebook, via email and tried various means to contact them, but absolutely nothing! I also have absolutely no idea why my Facebook account was taken down, or disabled, as I hardly used it.
I'm genuinely sorry that this has happened to you, Lizzy. This is a very good reason to boycott Facebook and use other platforms, but I do appreciate that if you have built up Facebook pages, it's very annoying.
Roy
@RoyBretton I'm so sorry this happened to you to Roy, you can say that I had a panick attack, and my husband came back home and took a day of, to fix everything that needed to be fixed. I even got me a new laptop, because I think the hackers totally broke into it somehow. (it was due to be renewed anyway one of these days, luckily).
But for now, no way that I'll be back on FB soon, all those years of work with 3fb business pages and all those groups I had, terrible. They broke me, and there is no way of contacting them any longer when your account is suspended.
The article mentions this Reddit thread, and when I read it, it looks like I'm totally done: https://www.reddit.com/r/facebookdisabledme/ Maybe you can still recover though, following the steps in Reddit?
People should file a class action in the US, so that this can't happen again. How even?
It has so many other consequences for me on top of it (it's not that I had a LOT of traffic comming from Facebook yet, but still it was a nice signal for Google), but I had my group setup as to attract subscribers to my newsletter, so building up my newsletter is going to be harder now as well. Or traffic to my forum, so a whole lot of things. Djees, first Google, now this.
All in on Pinterest I suppose from now on.
Djees, yeah for sure, they're the worst. I could make a new personal account, but afraid to do anything with it now.
Thanks for the support!
Lizzy
I’m really sorry that all this has happened to you, Lizzy. I know that various platforms are saying you have to use this platform and that platform, which I kind of understand, especially knowing what Google is doing.
However, before social media was as large as it is now, my Webmaster said to me, “Your website should be your main platform, as you never know when these platforms will shut you down”! He was so right!
Despite what’s happening, I still believe that our biggest focus needs to be our website.
It’s so annoying that Facebook is allowed to do this without any consequences, it’s just a really bad principle. I must admit I do find Facebook to be the worst platform to use, not only in its principles, but actually using the platform.
I know that some people use Facebook for a forum, but it’s just awful. You have to keep clicking to find more messages and so forth, it’s also very difficult to find an old post that you are looking for.
I’m glad that the Wealthy Affiliate forum, for example, is an independent platform that’s easy to use; to my mind, it’s much better. I know that many companies have their own type of forum, which is, again, much better than using Facebook. Sorry, I have digressed a bit.
I feel your pain but keep moving forward.
Roy
and apparently Facebook still hasn't fixed this problem
This looks to be a massive oversight on the part of Facebook. Depressingly, you seem to have been actively targeted by some nefarious character.
What a nightmare. Sorry to hear this Lizzy

I totally agree Roy. I really struggle to get on with FB ... and I consider myself pretty 'techie' ... I've always found FB an abysmal user experience. But they must be doing something right!

Thanks Rohan, my group has now been taken over again by other admins and changed the name to some 'dollar tree shit'.
. So instead of talking about my particular niche, they talk about totally irrelevant things then before. People will wonder why they joined and leave.
My dollhouse and miniatures community don't take this shit, especially because they are now trying to scam people as moderators of the group and they don't know my niche at all, they are making huge mistakes at the moment lol.
One person reporting or a few won't help, indeed Facebook doesn't care, but I do hope it will now be massively reported for financial fraud and just go away.
I mean: what is this shit hahahaha:
I would have never allowed something like this, they are messing up their hack and energy and time, they might be clever in hacking, but pretty stupid in managing a group and keeping it engaged.
Karma will happen, it always has and always will lol!
hmm, it somehow doesnt allow to show the new link to the group , let's try again with some more spaces, just put the words without spaces :

@rohanm Thank you for your reply, Rohan, it's appreciated.
I seem to hear so much about Facebook this and Facebook that, but it's nice to know that I am not the only one who thinks it's an appalling platform and a terrible user experience.
Another problem I find with Facebook is that it's very easy to have a comment removed, if you don't go with their narrative.
Recently, I reported a Facebook profile that was copying someone I know. He actually privately messaged me, but I felt something wasn't right. I then checked out the profile and realised that he was copying a friend. I reported this to Facebook and they have looked at the profile and said that there is nothing wrong with it! It's unbelievable; the fake profile uses exactly the same pictures in the header and the profile picture! Another reason not to use Faceache!
Roy
@ohnoo_not_her I'm really sorry to hear this, Lizzy, it's just not right at all!
It seems that Facebook can just do anything that they like!
It appears that fake profiles and hackers receive more privileges than genuine users!
Have a look at my reply to Rohan, if you have a moment.
Facebook doesn't deserve to have any users.
Roy
@RoyBretton indeed, they don't care, bots automaticly reject your report. Then you can try again, to maybe get a human reviewing your report, in 6 months time maybe *cynicle grin. Thanks
@ohnoo_not_her It's really bad, Lizzy and not at all right.
I've looked at ways to try and contact Facebook regarding the "Account Disabled" message and tried all the necessary ways. They even have pages dedicated to the subject, but they just take you around in circles. A complete waste of time! If you don't contact them within 180 days, it's permanently banned, it's probably been over a year for me or around a year. Not clever!
Enjoy the rest of your day.

Yes indeed, you just go round in circles, even though my business page is still up, but managed by noone, because they banned my personal account. Yesterday I even had a remaining billed payed automaticly through Paypal for payed adds. Luckily I can cancel the subscription on Paypal, so it doesn't get billed again.
And I contested the sum of money that was already payed for nothing, with proof that I have actually talked before to them in live chat and that I have a 'file'. And a screenshot of the reason why they banned me and the reason I contested their last bill. Not expecting an answer though, they just don't care about small people.
I'm afraid theres nothing we can do anymore, have a good night Roy! (evening here)
Lizzy
@ohnoo_not_her It sounds like you are in the same situation as me, Lizzy! I mean in the sense that you have business pages still up, but you can't get to them! It's annoying to see the business pages up, but not being able to do anything with them. I actually added a comment to my pinned comment on my page to say that I couldn't respond to anyone due to Facebook policies, etc.
It's amazing that they want to bill you, but you can't manage your page; just unbelievable. Once again it's just such an appalling business practice.
Where are you located, Lizzy? I just thought you were in the USA, but maybe you're in the UK, which is where I am!
All the best.
Roy
@RoyBretton from your neighbour country accross the channel Roy: Belgium, hahaha!
So yes, you understand the frustratrion, ugh.
Well, at least I'm up with Pinterest and Google a bit again , trying to stay positive 🙂
