I am still watching classes on WA (yeah I know, I said I was leaving, but I'm trying to save some good information that was given before, because I do want to set up a few things on my 2 other sites before I leave, and my yearly subscription ends next year)
Anyway, what I wanted to correct, again, is Jay saying that you should NEVER place your own website links on other groups.
Although I generally agree and it will probably depend on the niche: there ARE SEVERAL groups where I place at least ONE link per week to my Youtube channel or blog. Either they are private groups or public groups.
JUST READ THE RULES OF THE GROUP FIRST! Lot's of them do NOT MIND if you follow the rules and only place a link on Tuesdays only, for example, or in the weekends only. Of course, don't be ridiculous and start to SPAM a group (multiple links a day/per week), because no one likes that.
But group moderators are just people like you and me ( I have 2 groups myself), who make their own rules. And lots of them are really helpful to the community (within limits)
This way, it happened to me before that a certain video of mine could get VIRAL from my Youtube channel, because people got engaged to it for some reason and then the algorithm pushes it up in the group! That was fantastic!
I keep wondering why Jay on WA sometimes says things that go against your chances of making money, it drives me mad.
Take a look at this screenshot for example, where I'm a member of, she even says once a week: place your links today! More than 700K members in a public group: why would you NOT do this?
(no one will 'report you' or anything like that, because it is clearly allowed and reporting you wouldn't make sense at all)
But once again: read the rules CAREFULLY!
