Hey all,
So this "Profit Hunter" thing has been stalking my inbox for weeks now (not to be confused with Artemis Investments 'The Profit Hunters')

Two different mailing lists, same kind of pitch: an AI "business detective" that scans your content and finds your biggest profit leaks in 20 minutes. You drop in your emails, landing pages, whatever - it runs an analysis and gives you a 7-day action plan to fix the holes. All for $27, down from some "regular" $97 price.

At first I ignored it. But last night, after the kids went to bed and I was poking through my site analytics, I got curious. My eco-home affiliate site is steady on traffic but soft on conversions. It feels like I'm doing a lot of work for what feels like a slow drip of results.

So I get why this kind of thing appeals. Who wouldn't want a tool to magically point out what's wrong with your content? But I’ve been around long enough to know most of these AI tools promise “consultant-level insights” and then just tell you to write better headlines.

The sales page is slick (maybe too slick) and full of testimonials about people finding “hidden leaks” and boosting revenue overnight. No outside reviews that I can find though, which always makes me pause. It could be great, or it could just be another shiny object with bells on it.

Honestly, I'm tempted. Part of me thinks it's a cheap experiment. Part of me thinks it’s just repackaged ChatGPT prompts wrapped in a story.

I know it's a long shot but has anyone here tried The Profit Hunter yet? I know it's only $27 but I don't want to feel like I've been conned like a gullible fool as soon as I open the cover!

I'm not against testing it if it saves me a few hours of blind guessing, but I’d love to hear from someone who’s seen it in action first.

Maybe it's my algo but I’ve been seeing a flood of content lately about "free AI tools that make you passive income."

You know the type - someone claims they built a faceless YouTube channel, or an Etsy shop, or an affiliate site using nothing but ChatGPT, Canva, and a few Chrome extensions… and suddenly they’re “making money while they sleep.”

Every time I see one of those videos, I have two reactions at once:

- Excitement, because the tools are genuinely powerful. I’ve used ChatGPT to draft articles and brainstorm product ideas, and it does save time.

- Skepticism, because “free” and “passive” rarely go together. If you’re not paying in money, you’re probably paying in hours, frustration, or constant tweaking.

Over the past few weeks I’ve been experimenting - nothing crazy, just testing what could actually work at zero cost. I’ve tried building a simple site with a free AI builder and got it up and running in under an hour ... it's not bad either! Also been testing Notion AI for blog outlines and idea management.

The verdict so far: these tools help, but they don’t do the work for you.

What I’m trying to figure out now is how to chain them together into something that runs mostly on autopilot - not “make money while you sleep,” but maybe “make progress while you’re at your day job.”

So I wanted to ask - has anyone here managed to build something semi-passive using free AI tools only? Was there much coding involved and if so, how easy is it to 'vibe code' a Wordpress plugin, for example?

I'll post any wins I have here on the forum but if anyone can steer me even vaguely in the right direction, I'm all ears!

So, ChatGPT-5 has been released, and most other models removed. One of the new features, is that you can select a personality for it to respond in!

1265

Let's see the difference, with a simple request, testing each personality! I used the following prompt - write a 100 word paragraph explaining what GPT-5 can do

Default: Cheerful and Adaptive

GPT-5 is the next step in AI language models, built to understand and generate human-like text even better than before. It can help with writing, brainstorming ideas, answering questions, and creating content in a way that feels natural and smooth. GPT-5 is smarter at understanding context, making conversations flow more easily, and can handle complex topics with more accuracy. It’s also better at learning from the info you give it, making it a handy assistant for everything from casual chats to professional work. Want me to tweak it or add anything?

Cynic: Critical and Sarcastic

GPT-5 is a powerful AI that understands and generates text just like a person. It can help you write emails, stories, or even code, and answer questions on many topics. It’s better at getting what you mean, so conversations feel smooth and natural. GPT-5 can also switch styles—chatty, formal, funny—whatever you need. It’s great for brainstorming ideas, fixing grammar, or explaining tricky stuff simply. Basically, it’s like having a smart helper that’s always ready to assist with writing, learning, or creative projects. Want me to make it more casual or more detailed?

Robot: Efficient and Blunt

GPT-5 is the latest advancement in AI language models, capable of understanding and generating human-like text with even greater accuracy and nuance. It excels at complex tasks like creative writing, detailed research summaries, coding assistance, and multi-turn conversations. GPT-5 can handle more context, making interactions feel more natural and coherent. It also shows improved reasoning abilities, better understanding of subtle instructions, and can generate more diverse content styles. Additionally, GPT-5 supports image input and multimodal tasks, enabling richer communication. Overall, it’s a versatile tool that enhances productivity, creativity, and problem-solving across many fields.

Listener: Thoughtful and Supportive

GPT-5 is an advanced AI language model that can understand and generate human-like text with remarkable accuracy and nuance. It excels at complex reasoning, creative writing, and multilingual communication, making it useful for diverse tasks like drafting emails, creating content, coding, and answering detailed questions. GPT-5 can analyze large datasets, summarize information, and even assist with problem-solving across many fields. It supports more natural conversations, adapts to different tones, and understands context better than previous versions. This makes GPT-5 a versatile tool for professionals, educators, creatives, and anyone seeking smarter, more intuitive AI assistance.

Nerd: Exploratory and Enthusiastic

GPT-5 is a highly advanced AI language model capable of understanding and generating human-like text with remarkable accuracy. It can engage in complex conversations, write detailed articles, create creative content like stories and poems, and assist with coding tasks. GPT-5 excels at summarizing information, translating languages, and providing personalized recommendations. It also shows improved reasoning and problem-solving abilities, making it useful in education, research, and professional settings. Additionally, GPT-5 can process images alongside text, enabling richer interactions. Overall, it offers more natural, context-aware, and versatile AI support across a wide range of applications.

Hmm, not a lot of difference really? The Cynic mode was especially disappointing! I will continue to experiment!

So, a new feature has been added to ChatGPT called Canvas.

Not to be confused with the Canva platform!

Not sure who has this as yet, and I don't think it's available on the free version.

Let's have a look at what it does.

You initially access it by clicking the dropdown arrow at the top of the screen, where it typically defaults to ChatGPT 4o.

It then opens up as a new page, see screenshot.

1160

You can use the message option to ask for anything to be added, or changed etc, but this is now on the left of the screen.

But, if you look to the lower right of the screen, there is also a new pencil icon.

If you hover over this, it gives different editing tools you can use.

1161

In order, they are - Add Emojis, Add Final Polish, Reading Level, Adjust the Length and Suggest Edits.

To test it, I gave a very simple prompt, which obviously we wouldn't do - to write a post in full!

But it certainly seems better than it used to be already - no delving and navigating, lol.

Let's try each new feature, (double-click them) starting with emojis.

1162

Ermm, no, I really wouldn't suggest you do that, it looks awful!

I asked Chatty to remove them, which led to an almighty mess, as it had previously replaced some entire words with emojis, and didn't replace the words, leaving bizarre gaps!

So, this led to a further message to ask for the words back again!

Right, let's forget emojis (hurrah!) and move on to Add Final Polish.

And then, I asked what had changed.

1163

Certainly reads better in my opinion.

Now let's try Reading Level - this brings up a slider that runs from kindergarten to Graduate School.

1164

I really like the Graduate style, looks very authoritative and can still be understood by the majority of readers.

Next we move on to Adjust the Length, which again brings up a slider, running from Shortest to Longest, with several points in between.

The Graduate Level post was 780 words, and after selecting "Longest" it was expanded to a massive 1633 words!

Chatty tells me the following -

1165

I was actually very happy with the post at this stage and would even think about publishing it as it is (after fact-checking)!

But let's see what the final feature does - Suggest Edits.

This is pretty mindblowing really!

Chatty found 5 areas for improvement, highlighted them, and added a new box with the suggestions.

1166
1167

But could it follow its own suggestions?

You bet it can!

When you hover over the box, it says Apply!

And Boom! It has implemented the suggestion!

This is the first time I have played with these new options, but overall I am very impressed and will experiment further.

But please, STEP AWAY FROM THE EMOJIS!

I had created a tool for my website on miniatures and dollhouses that served as an easy scale convertor, meaning that you can use it as a calculator to switch from, for example, a real size chair, to a dollhouse chair of 1:24 (and lots of other scales)

It got a bit lost as a purpose on my homepage, and long story short, I created a subdomain for that tool only. (thanks again Andy and Partha for the ideas and help)

I was thinking about writing a little walkthrough on how to use that online tool, but it looked pretty hard for me to explain it step by step in English (yeah, not always easy to write something like that in English if you're Dutch speaking lol )

But then yesterday, I noticed that CHAT GPT now has a new version, and it is luckily already available here, and it is still the free version, even better for me hahaha!

So I just gave Chat GPT the actual code, and it just wrote this for me! ( I asked it to give it a more conversational tone for my audience)

What do you think?

"

How to Use the Scale Converter Tool: A Step-by-Step Guide

Ever wanted to shrink a real-world object into a miniature version? Maybe you're into model building, creating dollhouse furniture, or just curious about how scaling works. Our Scale Converter Tool is here to make that process super easy. Let's walk through how to use it with a fun example: turning a full-size chair into a tiny dollhouse chair at a 1:12 scale.

What’s a Scale Converter?

In simple terms, a scale converter helps you resize measurements from one scale to another. It's perfect for when you need to create miniature versions of real objects or make scale models for any project.

Using the Scale Converter Tool

Here’s how you can use our tool step by step:

Open the Scale Converter Tool: First things first, open up the tool on your device. You'll see a simple interface with places to enter your measurements and choose your units and scales.

Enter the Measurement: Let’s say you have a chair that’s 120 cm tall. Type "120" into the "Convert" field.

Select the Units: Next, pick the units of your measurement from the dropdown menu. For our example, choose "cm" because our chair's height is in centimeters.

Choose the Scale to Convert From: Select the current scale of your measurement. Since we’re starting with a real-size chair, choose "1/1" from the "in" dropdown, meaning full-size.

Select the Units for the Conversion: Choose the units you want for the new measurement. We’ll keep it simple and stick with "cm".

Choose the Scale to Convert To: Now, select the scale you want to convert to. We’re making a dollhouse chair, so pick "1/12" from the "to" dropdown.

Convert: Hit the "Convert" button. The tool will do the math for you.

Example: Converting a Real-Size Chair to a Dollhouse Chair

Let’s break it down with our example. You have a real chair that’s 120 cm tall, and you want a miniature version for your dollhouse at a 1:12 scale:

Convert: Type "120" in the "Convert" field.

Select Units: Pick "cm" from the dropdown.

Choose Scale to Convert From: Select "1/1" for full-size.

Select Units for Conversion: Stick with "cm".

Choose Scale to Convert To: Pick "1/12" for the dollhouse scale.

Convert: Click "Convert".

View Result: The tool shows "10 cm". So, your dollhouse chair will be 10 cm tall.

Tips for Accurate Conversions

Double-Check Units: Make sure you’ve selected the right units for both the original and new measurements.

Verify Scales: Ensure the scales you choose match what you need for your project.

Precision: For more accurate results, you might want to convert inches to millimeters before scaling, as it reduces rounding errors.
