Hey all,

This post is directed to the artists here....

I have been a member at Art Wanted for a number of years, since 2013, and in that period of time, my images have received 300k views. In December, alone, (as of the 5th) there were 1157 views. I decided to do something about that and am working on setting up a website portfolio to connect with my Art Wanted portfolio, and Shutterstock, where I have three images, so far.

My question is this- do I create a category page or do I create a post page?

I will be using a portfolio format.

I use GeneratePress premium and Elementor pro.

Thanks!

Rudy

Hi Rudy

I'm not an artist, but I just wanted to say hi! How's everything going?

If you want my opinion, I would use a category page.

Rock On! 🤘

Hey, Frank!

Yeah, that is my dilemma.

Categories are used with postal or products,  how do I create a category page?

Thanks,

Rudy

Hi Rudy

You can create a blog page but filter it to show only posts from categories you select in your SEO plugin.

So, in the block editor create a block for each category (Art type 1, Art type 2, etc.) and then create posts which are assigned to one of those particular categories. Create an image to click on that has a link to that particular category. Therefore, all your posts for Art type 1 will be shown grouped together under the heading Art type 1 or whatever you want to call it for that block.

Hi Frank,

Thanks, however, I'm not blogging per se, I'll be showcasing my photos.

I've done some research, yet, what I've found mentions setting up the category page with an image, then add category to portfolio menu as a drop down.

Not sure how to approach this...
