Hey all,

I'm looking to transfer all of my WA websites to another host. Right now, Hostinger has a great offer, and I;m thinking of going there. Has anyone ever used Hostinger?

Here is their current offer: 3 free months,  $3.99 per month for 2yrs, then 8.99 per month.

hostinger plan

Your thoughts?

I'm not planning to renew my WA in Nov...

When I was researching where to resell from, I came across this article: https://onlinemediamasters.com/newfold-digital-hosting-companies/

In a nutshell, there is a large amount of sites that have fairly cheap 'hosting', but it's pretty bad. So whatever you are moving to, I'd recommend staying away from anything that the article mentions (Hostinger isn't on the list, but I would just double check their parent company(s) to make sure).

When I was planning on going with reselling (and then scrapped the idea), I was actually going to go with https://www.knownhost.com/ - they have a lot of solid reviews, and had pretty decent prices.

Now, in regard to your actual question - I have no personal experience with Hostinger, but with prices that low, I'd be hesitant to go with them. If you want something that is on par with what you have with WA (i.e. buggy, down-time, things not working when they do), then go all in with Hostinger. Not knocking on Hostinger, but there's a reason those prices are that low.

I know WPX is pricey (especially since you would have to purchase their elite plan), but it's definitely worth the money spent, imo. I haven't had a problem with them, and their support has been more than helpful - helping with some things for free that other hosting support would charge for.

I didn't get into sharing much about Hostinger, but I looked into what they have to offer, even with a discounted monthly after the 2yr period.

They use Cpanel,  and have 24/7 support,  lol...no, really.. .

Enhanced DDoS protection

Free whois privacy

Unlimited bandwidth

99.9% uptime.

How does WPX compare?

Csn you give me a rundown on the different plans offered? I'm on my phone and don't want to spend time searching...am in middle of updating a home page.

Thanks,

@rudy You'll have to check out the plans yourself, since it's going to be easier if you look over it to see what best fits your needs - https://wpx.net/cart/wordpress-hosting/.

But here's the thing - everything that you described (minus Cpanel) is what WA claims they have - I wanted to ask Kyle what his thoughts were on Hostinger compared to what they have, because I guarantee you that he will say that WA's hosting is far superior to any other hosting.

The reason I bring this up is because if you are looking at hosting companies based off of what the specs are saying and the affiliated reviews are saying, you're going to end up making a poor choice (Hostinger gives out a 50+% commission to their affiliates).

So you really need to spend some time digging into the weeds of the corners of the internet to pull out those actual reviews that give you ALL the pros and cons of whatever hosting company you are going with - I did this briefly last night, and while the reviews were mixed, one thing that kept popping up is that after your initial sign up (whether that's taking the 6 month, 1 year, or two year plan), they charge you sometimes up to double what you were originally paying.

In regards to my personal experience with WPX (and Partha can back me up on this), I've never had any of my sites go down while there, I've always been able to reach support within 15-30 seconds and have whatever issue I'm chatting about resolved generally within 5-10 minutes. All the plugins I've added to my site have always worked (with the few exceptions when there were actual plugin conflict issues and not because of the hosting). Any issue that I've had with WA (and I've experienced most of the issues people have on WA) I haven't experienced with WPX. Hands down, WPX has been the best WP hosting I've used. Yes it's on the pricier side, but it's been worth it.

Another vote for WPX, here!

I transferred 4 sites away from WA, and WPX were incredibly helpful, friendly and efficient.

An immediate response to any query within minutes, and from a named person too, so you can refer back to that same person, if necessary.

I am paying $29, which allows for up to 5 websites.

Same experiences here, always quick to respond and very helpful, on the contrary to WA!

I had a problem at WA with a plug in for aweber and it took them 24 hours to fix it. Their first solution was upgrading to their new servers. I sent them a screenshot where they told me they had already upgraded my servers 🤦🏻‍♂️

Quick question about WPX. Do they have plenty of themes to choose from or do you have to pay extra?

Yes - just checked and I have over 7000 themes to choose from (7001 to be exact, lol) - I don't know how WA advertises their hosting, but anywhere you host a Wordpress site, you are going to have FREE access to any and all FREE themes and plugins. So if WA does this (and I'm not certain they do this), if they say that you get access to 'over 1000s of themes and plugins", well, you get access to all those anywhere. It's just one of those fake marketing tactics to make it look like their hosting is better than others...

But to answer your question again, yes, you have access to a bunch of themes that you can use/test.

@diane Can I transfer my 3 websites to WPX and still keep the same websites in WA, so I can make comparisons as to the over-all websites experience?
