Hey Guys,

Thought I'd show you this to see what you all thought. One of the sites that my wife and I run (a lifestyle/DIY/Printables site) has been on the Monumetric ad platform for over 6-8 months now, and just recently, we moved over to the new Journey by Mediavine ad plaftorm, and I wanted to share the differences so far.

So here goes:

This is the last 10 days of when I was on Monumetric. Remember - this is after several months of being there, so the ads have been optimized to the best of their ability.

Our Session RPM for those 10 days was $12.11, and we made $135.89. Pretty typical for what we were making with them all those months.

Now below is Journey's stats:

As you can see, these are the stats of our first 10 days with them, and we're already outperforming Monumetric.

Our Session RPM for those 10 days was $17.36 and we made $128.49. And this is all without having any optimization done yet and just starting.

Actually, if we take the last 7 days of both platforms, Journey is already beating out Monumetric:

If you haven't already (and if you have 10K sessions on your site), then I'd encourage you to think about applying to Journey.

Hi Andy,

How is it going with Journey now? I just got accepted and deactivated Monumetrics, just in time for the 72 hours before getting 'reactivated" on Monu. (what the heck is that rule even lol).
Was it easy to set up?

thanks

Lizzy

@ohnoo_not_her Still doing great! I actually just wrote an article on this on my site, but it looks like my writer hasn't published it quite yet. But we're do way better than when we were on Monumetric.

It's pretty easy to set up - all I needed to do was I think just click a Grow button, and it automatically placed them. Like I said earlier, I haven't tried to see if I can limit it on certain pages. But the actual process of getting the ads onto your site / in your articles is very easy.

Great! Could easily process it as well, I guess they will be live tomorrow. Looking forward to your article! Also quickly noticed that I can exclude some articles very easy, much easier than with Monumetrics.

@ohnoo_not_her You can find my recent write up about the two platforms here - I actually forgot to add about the process of adding it. I'm experimenting with a slightly different writing style, so let me know what you think about the article.

Great summarization of the differences between the 2 and I agree with the arguments pro and con.

I do think that this is the way to go from now on, not talking about what it all is, but just directly to your review.

(it sure was enjoying to first pay for it, before gaining from it). Journey apparently already got better then at the start, as you had to wait 2 months, for me it was just a month and 2 days, so no worries about a short time of no ads income during the transfer.

Just one question, I was placing old blog posts on FB, and I noticed on one there are no adds yet, do they place them post by post? My more recent ones already have the ads, and yes, the user experience is so much better already! I had to beg monumetrics to remove the video ads (horrible user exp), a bloody large sticky add on the sidebar (which they put back again grrr) , double adds (horrible on mobile), that doesn't exist anymore.

Do keep us informed please if you decide to take a closer look at the settings and what works the best even more, thanks!

Lizzy

@ohnoo_not_her If I remember correctly, it may have taken a while to have everything auto-populate with ads. I'll add to my todo-list to look into what you can or can't optimize within Journey 👍
