I've been binge watching SEO Jesus lately after Partha's recommendation the other day. Surfer SEO seems to figure quite highly in his workflows and the on-page content optimising process he employs is pure gold.

Surfer identifies all the SEO entities within the competing pages in the SERP and spits out a list of all the keywords and the optimum frequency usage. Stewart then plugs that straight into GPT and out pops a highly optimised piece of content.

I can't quite run to a subscription to Surfer just yet so when Stewart mentioned GPT can perform this analysis I set about crafting a prompt. I'm interested to know what you think ...

Initially, I asked GPT to search Google for the top five listings but I think it was returning Bing listings. How do I know? Because my website was #1 ... so definitely not Google. Lol.

So you'll need to populate the numbered bullet points with the 5 pages you want to analyse.

You should be able to feed this output back into GPT and create your optimised article.

You're an SEO specialist conducting a comprehensive analysis of on-page SEO entities for the 5 pages below:

1.
2.
3.
4.
5.

Your task is to identify all on-page SEO entities and their frequency within the content of the pages provided.

Please extract key on-page SEO entities present in the content, such as meta tags, headings, keywords, semantically related keywords, images, internal links, and other relevant information. Focus on analyzing the frequency of these entities across the 5 pages provided to gather insights on their optimization strategies.

Analyze the meta titles, meta descriptions, headings, keyword density, image alt texts, and internal links on each page to identify common trends and optimization techniques used by the competitors then provide me with a quick summary of actionable items based on the analysis.

In a table, give me a list of all the primary and secondary keywords you identified within the entities and in the second column, the average frequency of usage across the 5 pages. In the third column indicate where these keywords were found. ie: within the page content or the H1 or the alt text etc

Thanks for that fantastic prompt - I'm keen to use it asap. I also use the SEO tool on Writesonic - I enter my article, it tells me how I rank compared to the competition in terms of keywords, content, images, etc. It can then add more content, keywords, etc to improve the article.

cheers, Alisa

You're most welcome Alisa 🙂 I've used it a few times now and while I think it can be refined, it seems to be spitting out a half decent article when I run the article writer prompt subsequently and ask GPT to use the analysis.

In a few short weeks from being on this forum (thanks Partha!) I've gone from being very hesitant to use AI, to embracing it wholeheartedly now!  😎
