I don't know why, but I'm not keen on Canva. So in my quest for an alternative I just stumbled across https://www.photopea.com/ ... pretty handy!

 

If you try it, let me know what you think 🙂

I have tried it previously, and basically, it mimics Photoshop, so if anybody is familiar with that, photopea follows the same processes, but for free!

For an AI option, you can also try https://chat.qwen.ai/

Here's an example where I created the original image with Imagen, and asked Qwen to change the breed of dog.

@diane Cool! I tried this with a pic of my wife and told it to remove something from the background. It got removed but also changed my wife’s face into someone I didn’t recognize. Lol

@diane the main problem I was facing was generating a specific image size (Reddit banner). GPT and Sora fail dismally ... they just can't create a 1092 x 346 image or whatever it is!

The closest I could get was a 3:2 using a custom GPT. So popped that into Photopea and modified the canvas to the appropriate size 😉
