Hey everyone,

Hope you've all been well.

I've decided to drink Partha's potion — I wrote a Wealthy Affiliate review and published it to Medium.

Let's see if the potion ends up being healing or poisonous.

Partha, I know you said a summary of 800 to 1200 words would be fine, but I just wrote as much as I thought would be enough, and it ended up being more than 4000 words.

Don't you dare have a go at me, because there's probably a rubbing-off effect here.

Here's the link to the article:

https://medium.com/@yusufky/wealthy-affiliate-review-a-full-look-behind-the-curtains-3e086ab70ca6

It's an 18-minute read, so I don't expect you guys to read it all, but please show it some love and let's hope it ranks well.

Thanks everyone. 😁

@tracy Thanks Tracy.

Don't worry about reading it, just please give it some claps.

The whole idea of Partha's suggestion is to try and piggyback off Medium's high domain authority, while also using Google's appreciation of social signals like likes, claps, comments, etc.

By the way, it doesn't have to be 1 per person. You can hold the clap button, and the counter will automatically go up. I have typically seen many people on Medium give 50 claps.

Appreciate it. 😁

@yusuf Sure! It was more that I was about to leave the house for the day. I've now "read it " and shown my appreciation 👍😊👏

@yusuf TWO THINGS!!!

1) I've spoken inside the "Parasite SEO Course" about "search intent" and "user intent". I'm not going to go into everything here, BUT, "search intent" is what Google THINKS is the "right thing", so in order for an article to rank for "Wealthy Affiliate Review", FIRSTLY that article need to be placed on a domain with some "authority" (it's an authoratitive/COMPETITIVE keyword, everything ranking on page one is placed on a site with "authority"), yep Medium "hits" that (don't forget Don is currently ranking on page TWO), BUT, secondly, I think the "search intent" is NEGATIVE, i.e. Google is currently ranking NEGATIVE reviews... as I said inside the course, if you want to rank for a certain keyword you MUST match the "search intent" (forget right or wrong, forget "quality", forget "helpful", at the MOMENT to rank in Google you must MATCH what's already there... top 2 results are NEGATIVE reviews, they DON'T recommend).

2) I won't hide it or hold back... I'm impressed, you've got talent, something that I can potentially "work with and help" 🤣🤣🤣 That's a very well written article, well done!

@partha Thanks a lot Partha, it means a lot coming from you. But then again, you always knew I was talented.

Just kidding. 🤣

The point you make about search intent is interesting because to me, it sounds like people are hoping to see something negative when they search for a review.

It's like they're too lazy to actually sign up for something and put in the work, so the easiest route would be to believe it's a scam and a waste of time. If they don't do the search and even bother considering the platform in the first place, they'll have a troubled conscience because what if? But if they find that it's actually worth it, they'll think "Shit, now I have to actually work and not scroll on TikTok."

In any case, are you suggesting that a negative review is more likely to generate commissions than a positive review, simply because the positive review won't even rank? Obviously, the whole point of writing the review is to get referrals, so writing a negative review didn't even cross my mind.

There is also the idea that a negative review naturally sounds more genuine, because a positive review usually has the ulterior motive of pls buy so I get commission, whereas a negative review seems like it's a heartfelt message coming from someone who only wants the best for you.

What most people fail to understand, though, is that people who write negative reviews usually recommend alternatives, and that would be the ulterior motive in this case.

I'd like to think that given enough time and social signals, my review will find its way to page one, but in your experience, how long does this typically take? Surely for such authoritative domains, things are a bit faster?

I did the same, but I posted it on LinkedIn as well, wanted that further reach.

A very fair and accurate review. Well done, Yusuf!

You have certainly given me much food for thought about my own membership with WA.

Left you a round of applause on Medium.👏👏👏

I look forward to seeing how your review gets treated by Google.

Hi Usuf,

I just followed you and gave you some claps. Would be happy if you reciprocate, if that is ok. I appreciate it. Thank you.
