Curious about your progress doint that a whole year Rohan! 🙂
I probably should do a lot more with Reddit again to, but whereever I get banned once (or hacked), it is so darn demotivating to start again. And Reddit is so quick ban-triggered, ugh.

But can be a fantastic resource! They're almost always in Google now, in my niche, after AI overviews, ads (and ads), and Pinterest.

@ohnoo_not_her hey Lizzie Smile

Well no time like the present and I don't contribute enough here so let's post this now ... it doesn't have to be War & Peace. Lol.

A little context. My time is limited. Work the 9 - 5 (changed jobs late last year and much happier, yay!). So I gave myself a very bare minimum target of 1 post per day on our Reddit Sub that Partha set up for us.

I thought, if I can't even make one post per day then I probably need to evaluate my life choices ... lol ... (that actually is something Chat GPT would say. Ha ha)

So, yeah. Been doing that for 377 days now. At least one review per day. The sub has gone from zero to 440 members. Not sure who all these people are but they've joined for some reason. Maybe they like the content, or maybe they're scraping the content ... lol.

I haven't been tracking anything really. No time to get into much of that. I've just been writing, posting, writing, posting.

It's hovering around 20k views per month now. I think the bulk of this is the surge of natural traffic you get to a post when it's first published. The views then tail off after a few days and you're pretty much left with the organic traffic coming in from Google (mostly, I'd imagine).

Getting some very minor engagement but mostly just my one faithful follower who likes every post (is that you Diane? ... lol). Some genuine comments and some "This is a SCAM" ... "This product is SH1T" etc etc ... just delete those.

So ... on to the juicy bit. How much money has it made?

Well ... it's not life-changing and basically generated nothing for 5 months before a sale or two came in and now it's making sales most weeks. In the ClickBank screenshot you can see the first sale was actually at the end of October.

That screenshot is from day 1 to today so $5,120.09 in 8 months. An average of $640 per month. Like I say, hardly time to quit the J.O.B but it has definitely helped me out of a hole.

Plus I've made $650 or so from various other affiliate programs, most of which have paid into my Paypal ... all in all, not too shabby for something that maybe takes 45 minutes a day, on average.

No real downsides so far. Apart from the ever-present mild worry of the whole thing getting suspended. That comes with the territory in Parasite SEO. And I've learned a lot about the Google SERP as well as honing my AI prompting skills.

The review prompt has turned into a bit of a beast and I think I may have found a way to automate the entire process with Google Sheets, AppScript and the Open AI API. All using GPT to plan the entire process, write the scripts and debug/refine.

AI blows me away every day!

I've also built up quite a good list of other parasites I've seen ranking. This is in readiness for when I become a full-time organic SEO marketer. Have to think positive. I've even learned something about thoughts creating reality!

But that's another forum ... lol.

So what's missing? I hear you say ...

BACKLINKS!

I've played around in a very minor way with some backlinking but not seen any real SERP movement to be honest. I need to check on a couple of links actually!

I do think that if I could just get some of the more competitive CB products ranking, that's a full time income right there. The maths works.

Say $100 per sale on average. With only 2 sales a day, that's $6k per month.

I feel I'm so close to that now!

... and if you think of it like that, even if we all promote products on ClickBank, then there's room for many more of us on the Reddit Sub. Let alone the other parasites that I've only dipped my toes into the water with Smile

Finishing up ... just a little note to Partha. I hope you're doing ok mate. I do miss you man. After all, it was you who set me off along this path and it's only bloody working! Thank you so much Smile I honestly feel blessed to have crossed your path in Wealthy Affiliate, all those many moons ago.

And here we are ...

So I hope you found this helpful ... I'm happy to answer questions and try to give back a bit here.

(The legal bit. DISCLAIMER: These earnings are from my personal ClickBank account and are not typical. Your results may vary depending on your experience, effort, niche, and marketing strategy. This is not a guarantee of income, and I'm sharing this for educational purposes only)

@rohanm This is quite amazing to see, what you earn with not even an hour per day, so happy for you and I hope this will get you a full-time income!
Thanks for the explanation, and yes, I hope that Reddit will let you stay! I should be more active again on Reddit, it's a pity that they don't allow planners and such.

Thanks for the transparency and yes, miss Partha too, and many others 🙂

Things are moving so much in the online world, and I'm looking at tons of Youtube videos and such and trying x-amount of things, it's crazy. Partha had a way of saying: focus on this now and just do that. I feel like I'm all over the place now at once and it's driving me nuts lol

- my miniature site is coming back in Google , heu? Pinterest is hardly growing, but not going down either, it is still my main income, and I'm building up a second account, niching it down even more.

Interestingly, today I had an email from a brand, offering me one of their DIY miniature kits, in exchange for a blog post review. Now, this has not been very unusual over the years, I got many kits for free lol, but this time they want to mention me on their blog and their socials. Could be a big game changer, as I see them creating ads everywhere, on Google as well as socials.

Planning on getting back in full on Facebook for this niche, after I got hacked last year.

- my Etsy store. Although Diane takes care of most of it, I'm still trying to make publicity for it all over socials to get those sales up. And then theres the 'real' pictures and videos, and printing, cutting out all those mini printables, because people 'see it better in a dollhouse scenery' that way, is exhausting hahahaha
In the planning is my own Woocommerce store, so that would be better anyway instead of only AI images of the product

- Trying to revive my Africa site by means of Facebook (Diane is working on this to). Which will work in the end, I do believe that. But yeah, that still means having new content posts on it as well regularly. I am using AI, but I want them as humanised as possible, because Journey will never except me otherwise. I am an 'official' Amazon influencer now, though, since recently, with my own 'store', and getting some clicks hahaha

After 5 years, I am now earning about 1100€ per month, while I have my expenses still. But still fighting, just a bit more behind the scenes I guess ahahaha. I don't think they miss us all at WA - lol.

Good job in staying consistent!

@ohnoo_not_her Thanks Lizzie 🙂

Yeah, even though it's small change, it feels good to earn online again, after so many years 'in the wilderness' ... lol

I do think backlinks could make all the difference and certainly an interesting experiment, now I have so many targets to try!

Time is my biggest obstacle currently.

Ha! You're dead right about Partha. He has this uncanny knack of saying exactly what you need to hear at exactly the right time 🙂

That's good you're getting a bit of Google love again on your website. I must say I've seen quite a few low DR domains on Google first page in my SERPs wanderings! Maybe the authority tools haven't caught up with the backlinking campaigns yet or maybe Google has mellowed its stance. Hard to say without a team of SEO engineers on stand-by ... he he.

It sounds like you're diversifying as much as you can, which is great. Well done! Good luck with building those connections. It only takes one good one to come through and you're golden. Just keep at it 🙂

I still get WA's emails ... 🤣 🤣 🤣 Beer with Lyle .... ha ha ha.

Ok ... I'm out ... these reviews aren't going to write themselves. Oh wait ... they could do with prompt automation via AppScript ... he he.

Stay focused x

@rohanm I recently created a Reddit community but can’t figure out how people find it so that they can join. Is there something I’m missing?

@gtrman15 Hey Steve,

Great question and apologies for the delay responding ... I've been away for a bit.

So, the reviews sub got up to around 450 members I think (but very little engagement on most posts) before the axe was wielded.

I used to often ask myself why people were joining a sub which consisted entirely of AI generated reviews ... maybe some actually found the content useful (they were pretty good reviews, even if I do say so myself ... lol). I know some other members were just repurposing the content and posting on other subs (probably bots).

Reddit don't make it easy to find info on this but here's a few key things I learned with the TL;DR being: People won’t really stumble on your community until it has some life — your best bet is to seed it with content, invite a few friends, and share the link directly.

  • Search visibility: Double-check your community settings under Community type. Ensure it's set to “public” (not restricted or private).

  • Age and activity: Brand new subs (especially with no posts, members, or moderation history) often don’t rank in search right away. A few posts, comments, and some organic engagement help it show up.

  • Parasite SEO tactics: use tools like Keywords Everywhere to identify SEO keywords with traffic that you might rank for. Use keywords naturally in the title and early paragraphs. Use GPT to give you more semantic keywords to naturally increase topical relevance.

  • Sharing the link: The fastest way to grow early on is to directly share your subreddit link in relevant spaces — crosspost to other subreddits that allow promotion (check their rules) and share on social media.

  • Discover tab (mobile app): Reddit sometimes recommends new communities to users based on their interests, but this only kicks in after the subreddit has some activity.

Lastly, another thing I discovered on mobile is if someone comes across your sub via Google or another search engine, Reddit insists they install the app before the post is displayed.

Once you gain traction and have some visibility (it took about 6 months for the reviews sub) this condition is removed and the search engine user is directed to the post without the need to install the app. Obviously, you get a big traffic boost when this happens!

Feel free to DM me your sub and I can have a quick look for you.

Good luck 🙂

@gtrman15 Hey Steve, thanks for posting the sub. The basics all look good.

I did a quick analysis with GPT ... https://chatgpt.com/share/68a188f5-6248-800f-927f-397c484b5404

@gtrman15 Glad it helped Steve.

I had a re-read of the GPT session I shared and it honestly blows my mind every day, this AI thing.

Tell it to be a Reddit SEO expert and it just delivers!

The party's over folks (for now). I should've known better than to post a progress report! Asking for it ... lol

Or maybe Debra over at WA rallied the troops to raise the red flag ... 😆

Of course, this is the risk you run with any parasite SEO operation.

Glad I backed everything up now 😉

@rohanm Oh no, I guess you had a good run at it, but it was always a possibility it would happen at some point...

@diane Yep, goes with the territory. I will take away the positives. I've learned an awful lot about parasite SEO, created close to 500 posts and compiled a good list of alternative parasite platforms (which I've been meaning to test for ever!).

@keydah_keys I know! I felt that sinking feeling in my stomach when I noticed the usual link to the sub was not there any more. I even logged out and back in a couple of times before I would accept it. Lol.

@rohanm ohw f**k! In my experience with reddit, a bunch of people probably reported you , indeed. And then you're just BAM, gone, without a reason why or no possible appeal.
If it is someone from WA and they are reading this: shame on you.

(wouldn't be surprised if it was either. I once placed a negative review on Trustpilot, and Kyle just reported my review claiming I wasn't a member, and I had to 'prove' it. While I only told the truth about their bad hosting and such, things I would only have known if I was a member in the first place.)
They are all over claiming that they can 'learn' from criticism, while they never really do that, then they just silence ban those people, as happened to many of us. Anyway, I have moved on, don't even want to think about WA any longer hahaha. I think they are losing clients to. Their "AI writer" never was any good (hardly used it cause it was so horrible), and "Jaaxy"? no one ever heard about that tool lol !

It probably is better if you would create a new subreddit, to mention it here (but not the actual name), and if someone wants to join, they have to dm you so you have some controle over who knows about it! It always sucks so much to lose all that work, ugh! (parasite or not)

@rohanm also: wow. I googled WA review as well, just now, it was a long time ago that I did that. Not much positivity on the first page, is it? (not even that Youtube video from Eric Cantu on the first page) I call that Karma, it always comes around. (yeah, I can be a bit unforgiving lol ).

Hey Lizzy ... yeah I had noticed a few more reports on posts and comments recently. Maybe that triggered a manual review. We'll never know!

I once placed a negative review on Trustpilot, and Kyle just reported my review

I wrote one negative review on the sub and after it ranked #2 on Google I got all paranoid that someone from that company might report the sub. That's the problem when you're on page 1 ... everyone can see you!

I think the only other negative review on there was the WA one, which was brutally honest and ranking #1, as seen in the screenshot above. It was also getting some good engagement. Guaranteed that was on Lyle and Charson's radar.

and "Jaaxy"? no one ever heard about that tool lol !

What do you mean? That is the most advanced keyword tool on planet Earth, if not the entire universe 🤣

😉
