So this takes me right back to around 20 years ago!
Some of you may know my story ... I was an early black-hatter back in 2005 when AI was nothing more than a science fiction pipe dream. But we had a content scraper/rewriter and an IP delivery script.
Worked like a charm for 12 months or so and we made some good money. Then Google cottoned on.
IP delivery (or IP cloaking) was deemed unusable and my little group of musketeers slowly went our separate ways.
Anyway ... that's old news but to my astonishment, I think I'm seeing some kind of cloaking operation going on today, using Amazon AWS.
I'm still pursuing the parasite SEO thing and I've been noticing more and more, Amazon AWS URLs ranking well in the SERPs. When you click on one of these you're redirected to the Clickbank sales page. No landing page. Just direct routing of the human to the affiliate URL.
But the content indexed in Google is clearly different to the affiliate URL ... so this is potentially IP cloaking that we're seeing.
I'm playing around with AWS at the moment. Seeing if I can get something indexed. It is a bit technical though.
I'll keep you posted 🙂
So... What did you learn?
Hey @andy ... I haven't really had time to test anything yet. Built a couple of pages and successfully published them but that's as far as I got 🙂
It's in the back of my mind to pursue but spent much of the weekend building a sales funnel with free wordpress plugins 🙂
One day ... when I'm on this full-time!
Hey all. I still haven't had a chance to take this any further but here's an idea of what we're looking at. Copy and paste this into Google:
site:s3-ap-southeast-2.amazonaws.com/iml-web-prod
You should see around 16.5k pages indexed and I think they're all cloaking ... and that's just one sub folder!
ps - you'll also find plenty of products to promote via that search 😉
